I would apreciate if someone could point to any downloadable resources
containing shapefiles of
1) UN world zones
2) World climatic zones
3) Biogeographic areas
4) Largest lakes and rivers
5) Ocean areas (e.g. formal S. and N. Pacific, S amd N Atlantic, etc...)
6) Seas and marine areas
so far I was only able to locate gazzeter file with cities and towns
(global) and a political map shapefile. I did not expect it is so
relatively complicated to find shapefiles with oceans and seas or
climatic zones for a tiny project (relatively small biological database
with some mapping capabilities)... Any suggestions (prefferably free or
low cost :-) ). Thanks in advance!
