You may want to check out some of the GPS utilities for downloading handhelds. I use GPS Utility to download several differend brands. It works well, outputs to several different file formats and is inexpensive.

There are probably other utilities out there that do this as well. Check here http://gpsinformation.net/ for a good source of info on handhelds and software.
