Subject: [gislist] [AV] Different Coordinate Systems
Date:  10/04/2005 04:00:01 PM
From:  Kidd, Art

Hi everyone,

I am running ArtMAP 9.1.

I have a shapefile which I use almost daily and therefore have it as a desktop icon.
Recently, I (we) have suffered several server crashes. As a result, when I open up ArcMAP thru the shapefile, all I get is the drawing area and table of contents. The menus are all gone and I have been unable to restore them. So, to resolve this, I open up a blank drawing (fortunately, I use dual screens) and copy the layers of the table of contents over to the new one and save it as the project shapefile. This works fine.

However, when I start editing, the layers in the 'Personal Geodatabase' now come up as being "in a different coordinate system than the map.": My question is this: "How can I cause these layers and the map to return to being in the same coordinate system?"

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

TIA
Art
