Subject: Re: [gislist] [heur][bayes] ArcObjects

I am not an expert on the subject. My understanding is that ArcObjects can=
read and write to SDE, but typically it is a different object than for a s=
hape file, especially when you use ILayer and similar interfaces. =

Subject: [heur][bayes] [gislist] ArcObjects

Hello All,

I am in the analysis stage of writing a software program that would
collect information from an ESRI dataset and display information to the
user. I have looked at some shape file readers developed in Java. =

=

My question relates to ArcObjects. What formats, other than shape file
format, is ArcObjects able to read from? I believe that ESRI's SDE and
spatial databases can be read from ArcObjects, is it ok to make this
assumption?

=

Regards,

Usman
