Hi,
brand new to GIS and may never get too deep into this, but was wondering if I could get some guidance from the group. here is what I am trying to do:
I am trying to build some 3-d landscapes/maps in Cinema 4d, a 3d modeling/animation package by Maxon.
I have found the USGS SDTS DEM data for my subject area, but Cinema 4d only reads DEM data in Vista Pro binary format.
Does anyone know of a translation utility that imports SDTS and exports Vista Pro? I am on an OS X box, so Mac software would be preferable.
I have spent some time googling and have gotten a bit overwhelmed, so if anyone can point to a beginners guide to data types and what they are that would be great help as well.
thanks in advance
Paul
