According to this article http://support.esri.com/index.cfm?fa=knowledgebase.techArticles.articleShow&d=29391 all ESRI 9.1 software is supported on 64 bit Windows. I guess in your case the 2 Gigs of RAM makes all the diff. If both processors with similar speeds and same amount of memory yield the same results than an AMD system would be a better option since its less expensive?
