Subject: Re: [gislist] Export data to MicroStation
Date:  12/13/2005 09:45:02 AM
From:  M. Eleiche

Dear Yusuf,

What you are trying to do is NOT exporting data, rather it's geospatial data
migration from one platform to another, which is not easy or straight
forward task.

In such cases, we should consider three main types of geospatial data :
1) Classic geospatial data types : point, line, polygon - Those can be
converted into shapefile and imported easily into Microstation
2) Text (Label or Annotation) geospatial data : these may be a real
challenge, generally are exported from geodatabase into point shapefile then
imported as point then write text again.
3) Topological geospatial data : from my own point of view, I think it'll be
less burden if you try to create it again on Microstation.

I hope that those simple notes can help you.

Regards
