Subject: Re: [gislist] seismic zone data
Date:  01/05/2006 01:25:00 PM
From:  Lemke, Paula

Hey Mike,

I guess after living on the San Andreas fault for so many years I feel it
necessary to pay attention to earthquakes. There was a 3.6 quake in SE
Illinois last Monday 1/2/06. I couldn't feel it so it is ok. The entire
country is now set up with earthquake sheds (like watershed areas) and is
finally digital and mostly GIS-ready with historical data going back
thousands of years.

Here are some good sites:
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/faq/#seismo

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/hazmaps/ (This one probably has more of what you
are specifically looking for.)

Have fun!
Paula Lemke

Subject: [gislist] seismic zone data

Hello,

Can anyone tell me where I could find digital GIS datasets of US Seismic
Zones?

Thanks
