Hello GIS community,
As lengthy as my last summary was, I still neglected two very helpful leads. The first was from Susan Stitt from the USGS Rocky Mountain Geographic Science Center. She reminded me of the National Atlas, which has a plethora of useful data ready for viewing and downloading. Here is her response:
You're right, this isn't easy...
I think your best bet is The National Atlas which has a geological map which shows faults in Alaska... http://www-atlas.usgs.gov/natlas/Natlasstart.asp See http://pubs.usgs.gov/atlas/geologic/ for downloading the data...
Also, Richard McMahon from Alaska DNR just sent me a very interesting link showcasing the "emerging Alaska geologic portal is available at http://akgeology.info/ which "includes access to several public geologic databases, and provides access to current land records related to mineral property rights via interactive mapping."
Thanks again!!!
