Chris,
The image is geoTIFF? Photoshop (up to version 7 at least) ignores the
geoTIFF tags (that provide the georeference points) when reading and later
saving the image. You could do the image adjustments using other tools, but
if you feel more comfortable with Photoshop I can send you a program that
restores the geoTIFF to a file. You must indicate (a) the file from which to
read the georef information and (b) the file in which to copy the georef
information - you must keep the original file. It was developed in IDL, and
so it needs the IDL Virtual Machine (runtime), which is free (download from
www.rsinc.com). Let me know if you find problems, I used it only with our
satellite data.

Hello,
How can I "light-up" a georeferenced image without
loosing the geospatial data? I have satellite image
that I intend to use as a background for a printed
map. The test print shows the image too dark. I
brought the satellite image in Adobe Photoshop and
auto-colored it. The image looks fine now and the
second print of the image itself looks good, but when
I bring the image back into the map (ESRI ArcMap) it
is no longer georeferenced. Please help! Thank you
very much!
