Subject: Re: [gislist] ArcCatalog question...
Date:  03/13/2006 09:30:02 AM
From:  Tripp Corbin

To the best of my knowledge you can not join or relate a table in
ArcCatalog. A join or relate are normally functions associated with
analysis. Analysis is done in ArcMap. I tried using the add join tool in
ArcToolbox but it does not seem to work in ArcCatalog. However it does
in ArcMap.

Subject: [gislist] ArcCatalog question...

Hi Lister,

I have got some questions, about how do you solve the next problen in
ArcCatalog enviroment.

First question:
How do you do to connect three tables (*.dbf) with their own Shapefiles
? I have got three shapefiles, each of them has got a table and that
table
has got some atributes.
For example:
I have got a field "fa" in the table "TA", and another field "fb" in the

table "TB, and I need to make a link between both fields, "fa" and "fb",

then:
--- What is the command in ArcGis which you use to make this
operation ?

Second question:
At the moment when both tables are linked, If I selected some registry
in
one table, Are the registries connected with this selected registry in
the other shapefile, selected too ?

Thank in advance

pedro ruiz.
