Open ArcCatalog. Browse to your shape file. right click on it and
open properties. Click on the shape/geometry line in the fields tab.
In the field properties portion of the dialog box, click on the
ellipsis button (...) next to the spatial reference line choose
select button from the coordinate system window and browse to the
desired projection.
