Thanks all for your replies!...Obviously there are numerous ways to do
this...Here's what I did based on the suggestion from 'jeremyandpaula'.
The shape file I had had no projection. So I first projected it to
'NAD_1983_StatePlane_Nevada_East_FIPS_2701_Feet' which is where these points
are supposed to be. Then I used xtools extension to add X and Y fields. Now
my question is are these newly added X Y points UTM or stateplane 2701
coordinates? Am I asking the right question? Technically they should be
stateplane right?
