Good morning,
I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on demographic databases such as Claritas and Spatial Insights. We use a lot of Census-style data at tract level and smaller. The Census ACS won't have this data between censuses at such a small level available for several more years. There are lots of Claritas-style products available but there is a lot of debate as to how accurate they are and if they should be used at all. Of particular concern to us is the failure of these data sets to adjust to trend changes, like spikes in crime or building booms that reverse population decline, but may not be picked up in demographic projection.
Any thoughts? Suggestions on a particular brand?
