In AV 3.2, this is easy and fast, requiring no extensions: Represent the
single point as a point theme having one feature. Spatially join that
theme to the point layer by activating the [shape] field in the
single-point theme table, activating the [shape] feld in the point layer
table, and pressing the "join" button. The distances will appear in a new
[Distance] field. Make sure you use projected themes, not geographic ones.
In general, software-specific questions are best directed to appropriate
user forums. They exist for ESRI products, MapInfo, Manifold, GRASS, and
many others. The ones for ESRI products are now Web-based and can be
accessed at http://support.esri.com/index.cfm?fa=forums.gateway .
