Ayo,
AV 3.x has an extension to view *.img files. It should be stored in the
sample folder:
ESRIAV_GIS30ARCVIEWSamplesext
just copy all the *.avx files to:
ESRIAV_GIS30ARCVIEWEXT32
And see if thatworks. I never had problems opening img files and using them
with image analyst.

The task at hand....
We need to extract part of some Satellite Imagery
compressed in ECW format. The area is defined as
aoi.shp.
ArcView Image Analyst is the software available.
Questions....
1. Is there a way to extract without decompressing the
file to .img?
2. Is there another software option
(freeware/shareware)?
