Hello,
I am doing some research for work and I am curious if there are other GIS organizations, particularly non-profit and municipal, like us out there. I am particularly interested in those with a social focus, or those whose main clients span different jurisdictions or organizations.
We are a non-profit devoted to data and GIS analysis focusing on children and families.
We function as the in-house data and GIS department for 2 non-profits (our financial sponsors) as well as supply products to other organizations, government interests, and the public.
We rely heavily on outside organizations for the raw data we use. We don't currently do much data collection in house.
I would love to know if there are other people out there working in similar situations, and how you structure work flow, administration, and other non-profit issues, like the level of political involvement from interested parties.
Feel free to contact me offlist.
Thanks,
