I can't help but to think your point about how "other's have paid millions of dollars" to create location datasets is a little over the top. The reality is that many of these vendors you refer to routinley acquire free data from local, state, and federal government agencies who create taxpayer funded landmark datasets (including schools, hotels, churches, shopping malls, etc). These agencies provide data free to the general public, including for profit vendoirs. This free, to very low cost data includes not only points, but street centerlines, aerial imagery, etc. In my home county, the county auditor's office has stated that they are routinely contacted by TeleAtlas, Navteq, etc., for datasets, only to have this information incorporated into their own for profit business. Another view of this situation is that "others" have MADE millions, not paid millions from taxpayer funded geographic information. So, I agree that Selvan's request may have been innocent, and suggest that rather than trying to pull this information from Google (which sounds like an easier way to acquire data), instead, contact local or state agencies that have datasets readily available for download (or for purchase at very low cost). The implications of your question, while perhaps innocent enough, indicate some desire to export and create a database of locations for Magnasoft's purpose that other's have paid millions of dollars to create, and you want to try and leverage the relatively inexpensive G.E. application to short-cut the path to a "new" database of points of interest.
