Hi Listers,
I'm working with a college that is interested in developing a GIS system for management of their property and resources (i.e. utilities, roads, buildings, etc...). They presently have an extensive amount of CAD data, aerial imagery, hard copy maps, etc...: much of this will be assimilated into the GIS system. The college uses a dual spatial reference system. They have their own local grid system for the campus, and also store data in CCS 5 '83.
They would like to adapt a standard coordinate system.
My question is this. If you have experience in this area, could you please let me know your thoughts and recommendations on what coordinate system (and datum/projection) would be the best to use in this case? They will be incorporating utility information (in some cases survey grade accuracy) into this system, and will want to be able to manage both survey grade and resource grade accuracy data collectively.
Thanks very much!!
Travis
