Hi Hugo,
Quite surely there will be various DB utilities to achieve the result you are asking for, but
a) If by "merging" you refer to copying all tables and queries, the same result can be obtained:
- with a few lines of VBA code OR
- simply using the IMPORT TABLE command (see attachment).
As this command allows the selection of all objects per type (all tables, all queries, etc) if you have only 10-15 MDB files to process, I would recommend this approach, with the company of a cup of coffee.
b) if you only want to "see" all of the data together, but you wish to retain the source data as separate MDB files (e.g. this may be warranted if the source data is maintained by separate users etc), you can go through the same process describe in point (a), but choosing the "link table", rather than "import" option.
c) once all your data (or a linked version of your data) is in a single MDB file, you can "see it all together" via UNION queries - as a basic option.
I don't have an idea on the size of your overall data set, so I can't tell if some tuning/optimizatio may be required once you have consolidated your tables.
I hope this helps, and let me know how your import proceeds -
Regards,
Andrea Giacomelli

|I wanted to know if there is way to merge individual Microsoft access |(*.MDB files) into a single access file. |Is there any tool for that ? |Or else is there any other method to merge 10-15 separate mdb's into |one single access file. All the MDB'S that I am talking about as |similar fields in them.. |Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,
One possible alternative to merging might be to link the tables between two databases. That way you have access to all the tables in one database, from the other.
