Subject: Re: [gislist] HUGE X/Y Data Import into ArcView?
Date:  12/13/2006 06:10:00 AM
From:  Jayachandran Mani

Hi,
I am daily running few 10's of files with more than 6
million points,each.

You can use the add button in the "Table view" in
ARCVIEW and select the "delimited ASCII text" option.
You can open the text file and can save it as a DBF
file using the export option from the "file" menu. =

I am joining tables with 6 million records in a shape
file (batch process) with the text file of 6 million
records based on the ID and exporting the final output
as a separate dbf file. The script can be shared, with
interested guys

Jay
