This is really an anthropological topic. I am not familiar with the anthropological literature regarding space, but a brief web search suggests this topic has been well explored. The conceptualization of space is influenced by cultural and psychological factors that are too complex to be represented by any software.

How to recognize people that question the need for conceptualizing space. Rounded shoulders and slanted forehead. Rounded shoulders from shrugging their shoulders when asked a question. Slanted forehead from the dope slap they give themselves when told the answer. Or as they say on the farm, a pig don't know a pig stinks. Simplify the cultural and psychological factors so they can be represented by software. KISS, keep it simple, stupid. Did I really say that? Sorry, I got carried away. I did not mean to offend. If the presentation is so complicated it is not understood by the intended audience, it is useless. I think ESRI's success lies in solving the cultural and psychological factors using education, examples and standardization. _DickBoyd@aol.com_ (mailto:DickBoyd@aol.com) _______________________________________________ gislist mailing list gislist@lists.geocomm.com http://lists.geocomm.com/mailman/listinfo/gislist
