These models should help...

MODSIM for simulating water allocation:

http://modsim.engr.colostate.edu/

IDSCU for computing field and farm consumptive use (CU), and IDS AWAS for
calculating river depletions:

http://www.ids.colostate.edu/index.html?/projects/idsawas/

I have not run into an all inclusive model residing in a GIS GUI.

Subject: [gislist] Irrigation management systems

Hi All,

We have been tasked with coming up with an irrigation management system. The
system should capture attributes of irrigation infrastructure i.e. canals,
pumps, offtakes, etc but also include some management capabilities i.e. be
able to handle crop and soil information and be able to do basic water
balance calculations. The system should also have some basic GIS mapping
capabilities included.

I am busy with a google search and searching the various GIS list archives,
but the results are not so promising at the moment.

Does anybody know of something like this? We don't want to re-invent
something that already exists :-)

Thanks and regards

Craig
