Subject: [gislist] delete a domain?
Date:  02/07/2007 07:30:00 PM
From:  Rixanne Wehren

Hello Listers,
Still trying to learn to edit in AV9.2

trying to set up domains for a feature class with 10 text fields.

in the GDB/properties/domains I set up each domain name, specified text,
then entered the codes. After doing them all, I hit OK and they all
disappeared except the first one!. Does that mean I should save after
each domain code list is done?

Secondly, on the next try, the second domain reverted somehow to long
integer (after entering the text codes), dropped all the codes, and now
will not allow me to change it to Text. Get the message "Failed to
update one of the domains. The existing field type does not match that
of the updated domain." Does that mean that I can't ever change a
mistake? Is there any way to delete a domain and start it over?

thanks for any help on this, or reference to a editing tutorial.

Rixanne
