OVERVIEW:

"Dekalb County Stormwater Utility Implementation: An
Inter-Departmental/Systems Approach"

A brief discussion on the GIS approach that integrates an ESRI
stormwater utility database with a Hansen billing system. Further
talking points include the inter-departmental approach to mapping
business processes in support of the maintenance of an accurate
stormwater billing system.

PRESENTERS & BIOS:



Michael Walker, DeKalb County Stormwater Program Supervisor

Michael Walker has been employed with Dekalb County Government for seven
years and has severed in several capacities from the Development
Department, Park and Recreations, the County's Greenspace Program and
currently he is the Stormwater Program Supervisor in charge of the
Stormwater Utility Billing and the GIS Section for the Roads & Drainage
Division of the Public Works Department. Mr. Walker has spent many years
in Urban and Regional Planning across the country and has a Bachelors
degree in Social Science from Youngstown State University in Ohio and a
Masters of Urban and Regional Planning degree from Penn State
University.



Dawn Abercrombie, Project GIS Analyst, CH2M HILL

Dawn Abercrombie has been employed with CH2M HILL for the past eight
years as a GIS analyst. She has been working with water resources
throughout her time in a broad spectrum ranging from Watershed
Assessments to Watershed Improvement Plans to Stormwater Utilities the
past 4 years. Additionally she has worked with clients in a more pure
GIS role helping to develop GIS for Anniston Army Depot and currently
working as the GIS Manager for the new City of Milton and the City of
John's Creek. Dawn Abercrombie has an Bachelors of Science degree in
Earth and Atmospheric Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology
and her Master of Science Degree in Environmental Public Policy from The
Georgia Institute of Technology as well.

Chris Turner, DeKalb County Stormwater Program Senior GIS Specialist

Chris Turner has been with DeKalb County for two years and has been
working to build an effective GIS system for DeKalb's County Stormwater
Program. Before DeKalb County, Mr. Turner worked as an onsite GIS
contractor for Photo Science Inc. Chris' interest in GIS began when he
was obtaining a Bachelors of Science in Geography and, a certificate in
GIS from The University of Georgia.
