Hi everybody,
Well, thanks to all who responded, I find that I do have Service Pack 1
installed. I have also converted the dxf file to a shapefile and am in
the process of seeing if that will speed up things. I will let you know
the results of that.

I think we have narrowed it down to a DXF file Art was using. DXF and
DWG's do seem to slow ArcGIS down quite a bit. I think this is due to
the support for AutoCAD 2007's new DWG format.

What we experienced when we upgraded is that at times, the upgrade to
9.2 will fragment the hard disk. Defrag the hard drive and you should
find some improvements.

We have been using ArcGIS 9.2 since it was in beta and have not
encountered that kind of problem. When you upgraded did anything else
change like new antivirus or spyware software?

My IT Dept just upgraded my ArcGIS from 9.1 to 9.2. Now, it takes me 28
minutes to do each command.
28 minutes to open,
28 minutes to zoom to a point
Make the corection/chgange/deletion
28 minutes to zoom back out,
28 minutes to plot,
Etc., etc., etc.
You get the picture.
Has anyone out there encountered this problem?
