The Conservation GIS Lab at the Smithsonian Conservation & Research Center = (CRC) is seeking an intern, to start immediately. The Lab focuses on devel= oping remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications = to conservation problems. =

1. Using remote sensing and GIS for conservation of endangered species. C= urrently we are working on projects focused on Asian elephants, giant panda= s, clouded leopards, Przewalski=92s horses, Mongolian gazelles, and others.
2. Training of wildlife management professionals in application of GPS, GI= S and remote sensing to everyday management.
The interns will assist with everyday lab management, enter data, help with= training courses, and assist in the GIS/remote sensing aspects of these pr= ojects. We seek interns with a good knowledge of computers, Windows operat= ing systems, and standard office software. Basic knowledge of GIS (prefera= bly ArcView or ARC/INFO) and remote sensing are a plus but not necessary. =
