Thought you might find this interesting: http://www.cleerimpact.com lets you
simulate emergency scenarios like chemical spills or oil fires anywhere in
the world and then plots the results onto google maps or google earth. It
displays polygons right in your browser and you can toggle layers on and
off.
Here is its model of the propane spill that happened in Oneida NY a couple
weeks ago

The other thing I thought was cool is that it runs the simulation on remote
servers instead of in your browser.
