We have tried AutoDesk Map 3D 2007. The issue is that the FDO provider
for SDE
only connects to default. Version management is privative if non existent.
Connecting to multiple DSN does not work. If you are not the version owner you
can't connect. In our disturbed environment we can only edit children of a
master version of which the master was made from the default version. I have
heard the Map 3D 2008 will be a little better. I could not find anyone who
successfully implemented this as a solution. I have been trying to
speak to the
reps at AutoDesk to discuss this and AutoDesk BuzzSaw further.
