I have a number of point records from a total station survey recorded with X, Y, and Z coordinates. I did not (naturally) record the north orientation at the time and left the default X and Y coordinates to start with the instrument at 1000, 1000. Okay. Dumb move. Now I need to plot that in a GIS system that is using UTM Coordinates for Zone 14N, NAD 83. Of the several hundred points I know the UTM coordinates of THREE. How can I rotate the original points into the utm systems and plot them? The data are (or soon will be) in a spreadsheet.
Here's a sample of what the data look like for the three points where I have UTM coordinates for TS points: Shot_Num Item_Num Grid_X Grid_Y Grid_ELev X_Coord Y_Coord Zone NAD 49 117 1008.854 1009.658 99.71 245476 4114418 14 1983 54 116 1012.502 1007.601 99.815 245488 4114421 14 1983 113 139 985.108 1068.04 102.692 245476 4114442 14 1983
I do appreciate all help of any kind. Thanks.
Dave Hughes
