Hi
We are using WMS to deliver maps for several web applications. We would like to be able to draw a point symbol at an x,y position on the map (ie an acetate layer). Is there any way we can do this through the GetMap request using SLD?
I've looked at the ogc spec for SLD and symbolising a point is no problem. It is also possible to have "user layers", but it seems these must be supplied by a WFS. Can we not just provide a GML point and symbolise that?
I get the feeling that somebody must have done this before as it's quite a common task. I'd be grateful if you have any examples or tips regarding the above. We are using ArcIMS 9.2 to serve the WMS.
Regards
John
