Tricia, The Divide command will place points at specified intervals along a line. This command is located on the Editor Toolbar in ArcGIS.

Dear All, I have proposed placing a number of directional and informative signs along a recreational trail in the forest. Is there a automatic function that will place points at regular intervals in ArcView or ArcGIS. Also is there a standard interval (distance) between signs?
