Subject: Re: [gislist] Mobile GIS

From:  Michele Mattix

Mohamed -

ArcPad is nice, but it has a steep learning curve and is not a good
option for those who have no GIS/GPS experience. Trimble makes a nice
application called TerraSync (www.trimble.com/terrasync.shtml ) that
runs on Windows Mobile 5. It's designed to go out and collect data and
I am able to successfully train new users of all experience levels how
to use it in about an hour.

Typically, TerraSync is coupled with an office computer application
called GPS Pathfinder Office. This is where you can customize your data
dictionary, do differential correction, and then export out to
shapefile, DGN, or whatever spatial format you want.

Subject: [gislist] Mobile GIS

Dear All,

I'm making a research about Mobile GIS, and I'm interested in Mobile GIS

softwares.
I know that ArcPad is the most popular software in this area.

Please if you know similar mobile GIS softwares that run on mobile
devices,
provide me with their details.

Kind Regards
Mohamed Eleiche
