Subject: Re: [gislist] ESRI symbol overlap detection
Date:  10/30/2007 03:20:00 PM
From:  Marcus W. Brast

Don't put them on top of each other....

J/K You just have to go in and tweak the symbols, a lot of times when a
symbols overlap, if you zoom in far enough, you'll see there is a
separation, just not a lot.

Also, I know there is a setting for preventing that on an annotation
layer, but I can't quite remember if there is for symbols. I would look
in the help file for collision (to keep the symbols from overlapping)
and weight (to determine which symbol takes precedence if two or more DO
overlap).

If you have a lot that do overlap consider call outs.

Does anyone know how to prevent symbology overlapping in ArcMap?
