Leading Executives "Hit the Road" for Location-Based M-Commerce At the Mobile Commerce Conference (MC2)

The executive-level summit will provide insight into the business and technology challenges of L-Commerce - February 12-13, 2001, The Fairmont Hotel San Jose, California

NEEDHAM, Mass. - Key3Media Group, Inc. (NYSE: KME) today announced Mobile Commerce Conference (MC2), the first standalone event in Key3Media's recently launched wireless initiative under the event brand eMobility. The conference and exhibition is the only executive-level summit focused exclusively on the business and technology of location-based mobile commerce (l-commerce). The event will feature the CEOs and senior level executives of the companies forging ahead in the m-commerce marketplace including VeriSign, 2Roam, and Cell-Loc Inc. The conference and exhibition will take place February 12-13, 2001 at The Fairmont Hotel San Jose, in San Jose, California.

According to the Strategis Group, L-commerce will reach $7 billion by the year 2004. But to attain that goal, companies in this newly emerging industry must address a variety of challenges and conflicting opinions to determine the key requirements for building profitable m-commerce business models. Which technologies will stand the test of time? Will wireless advertising be welcome by consumers? How do you ensure consumer privacy? What are the best end-to-end security solutions? What's the latest on positioning technologies? How do we educate the consumer?

MC2 is designed to provide senior level business and technology executives from wireless, e-commerce, leading-edge brick and mortar, advertising, and VC industries with an opportunity to debate and learn about these issues. Attendees can choose to attend the business track, focused on presenting the latest developments affecting m-commerce from a business perspective; or the technology track, focused on providing a clear understanding of the communication technologies, hardware/software platforms, positioning technologies and server architecture required to successfully roll out location-based services.

Mobile commerce newsmakers and innovators will share their expertise and industry experience in conference and keynote sessions. VeriSign, the leading provider of Internet trust services; 2Roam an innovative wireless Web infrastructure provider and partner in a pilot campaign for live delivery of electronic coupons; and Cell-Loc Inc., leading the way in building a network that will make it possible for e-commerce sites to send location-sensitive content and services to mobile phone users, are just a few of the companies participating in this program. The demonstration area will provide attendees with the opportunity for hands-on demonstrations of the latest in wireless devices and applications.

"As a result of the rapid deployment of technologies such as mobile positioning, 3G networks, and Bluetooth(TM) wireless technology, wireless services will soon be pervasive throughout society" noted Bryan Morgan, Founder/Managing Editor of the Wireless Developer Network and co-developer of the Mobile Commerce Conference. "Based on the conference content, and quality of the speakers, MC2 is a 'must attend' for anyone interested in learning how to monetize the wireless internet, build a business model or strategy around location-based services, or support any aspect of mobile commerce."

MC2 was developed in conjunction with The Wireless Developer Network. Sponsors for this conference include JunglePort and media sponsors M-Business and Wireless Week.
