Key players form Wireless Location Industry Association (WLIA)
Association to be the voice of emerging industry
WASHINGTON - Eight leading companies involved in the
wireless location industry, from the U.S., Europe and Canada, have joined
together to announce the creation of the Wireless Location Industry
Association (WLIA), located in Washington, D.C.
The association will become the voice of the emerging wireless location
industry. WLIA will interface with government, administrative and regulatory
bodies on behalf of the industry and create a forum to develop self-regulating
policies, network and share information among members of the industry. It will
also provide references and information about the industry to the public and
to policy makers, both in the U.S. and internationally.
The founding members of the association include Cell-Loc, SignalSoft,
GoAmerica Communications, Cambridge Positioning Systems, Zero Knowledge
Systems, Indexonly Technologies, iProx and ViaVis Mobile Solutions. Numerous
other companies have also indicated their interest in WLIA including SiRF
Technology, InfoSpace and Barpoint.

in the entire technology sector," said John Jimison, a Washington attorney
selected as Executive Director and General Counsel for the group "WLIA's
founding members recognize the tremendous opportunity before them, and are

for the new association, added, "Our founding member companies are very

this industry association specifically dedicated to serving the wireless
location sector. We encourage other wireless location companies to join us in
our efforts to build the industry together."
