TORONTO, ON February 22, 2000 – Desktop Mapping Technologies Inc. (DMTI), Canada’s premier publisher of precision built street map data, innovative geocoding technology, and geospatial data, is pleased to announce the introduction of CanMap Plus+.

CanMap Plus+ includes all of the benefits of DMTI’s intelligent street centerline file, CanMap Streetfiles, combined with NTDB Hydrographic, Power Transmission line and Rail Road data, the DMTI Enhanced Postal Code File and 1996 Census Boundaries and Data. CanMap Plus+ provides a geospatial base for your assets with a standardized view for searching data anywhere in Canada. This product also allows for consistent urban and rural analysis.

“CanMap Plus+, is ideal for analyzing data on a consistent mapping base, displaying socio-demographic trends and patterns, locating infrastructures, and enabling environmental and crisis management systems.” said John Fisher, DMTI’s President and CEO.

Built to rigorous cartographic standards, CanMap is shipped in plug and play format in the worlds leading GIS software formats such as MapInfo and ESRI. CanMap Streetfiles enables users to locate their data or resources with accuracy, display and analyze their data on a nationwide standard and enhance their application with realism.

CanMap Streetfiles is available Nationwide in unprojected latitude and longitude with the NAD83 datum.

For those concerned with staying current with their data, DMTI has a Maintenance Program available for CanMap Streetfiles, which allows clients to subscribe in 1, 2, or 3 year contracts.
