MAPINFO ANNOUNCES $5.9 MILLION IN FIRST QUARTER ORDERS FROM A MAJOR TELECOMMUNICATIONS PROVIDER
TROY, NY - January 5, 2000 - MapInfo Corporation (Nasdaq: MAPS) today announced that it received a total of twenty-one orders from a major telecommunications provider in the Company’s first quarter. The orders are for a wide range of software and data products worth a total of $5.9 million. MapInfo will recognize $2.3 million in revenue from these orders in its first fiscal quarter ended December 31, 1999. Of the remaining amount, $3.4 million is for options to renew data subscriptions for 2001 and 2002. The Company intends to report first quarter financial results on January 18, 2000.
