alta4 releases HTML ImageMapper 2.1 (ArcView Extension) - Get Started with Internet GIS for only EUR 299
Trier, Germany. With the internet becoming more and more important there is a growing need for means to publish GIS maps in the world wide web. HTML Image Mapper 2.1 is the easiest and most affordable way to transform ArcViewTM GIS maps and data into great looking interactive maps for the internet.

Sold to over 20 countries world wide, HTML ImageMapper has become the world leading tool for ArcViewTM to create GIS web projects. Among the customers are the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), The Washington Post, and numerous research institutes, municipalities and counties. Most licenses have been sold to the U.S. and Canada, followed by Europe and Asia.

Keeping up with the pace of the world wide web, alta4 now releases version 2.1 only three months after the release of 2.0. The simplicity to use the product and the minimal requirements on the web server (no need to install any software on a web server - just ftp the output files and directories to your web server) make this product so successful.

This wizard based ArcViewTM extension, developed by the german GIS startup company alta4, quickly converts any ArcViewTM View documents into web projects based on HTML image map technology.

The map author specifies the action to be taken when a user clicks on one of the map's features. Available actions include displaying the features attributes, linking to an associated URL, sending an e-mail or hot-linking to an image or other multimedia file.

HTML ImageMapper 2.1 includes important new features:
  • auto-generated legend which appears in pop-up window
  • overview map for easier navigation
  • support of any ArcView TM shape class

Until July, 31 2000 alta4 offers the ImageMapper single license at an introductory price of EUR 199.00 (US$ 180.90). The regular price will be EUR 299.00 (US$ 272.00).

The educational price is EUR 49,- (US$ 44,54).

For more information and a download of an evaluation copy of ImageMapper 2.1 please visit our wesbsite at http://www.alta4.com or contact us by sending an e-mail to info@alta4.com.

Since May 2000, alta4 is official ESRI business partner.
