WirelessDevNet.com and CTIA Announce Developer Seminar At Wireless I.T. 2000, October 15, 2000
One-day Wireless Developer Seminar will focus on providing technology solutions for the architects of the wireless revolution.

Two leaders of the wireless data explosion - WirelessDevNet.com (The Wireless Developer Network) and CTIA (The Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association) - have joined forces to present the first annual Wireless Developer Seminar on Sunday, October 15, 2000. This event will immediately precede CTIA's Wireless I.T. 2000 conference at the Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara, California and will feature keynote and technical presentations from leading speakers and developers in the wireless application development field.

"We're excited to continue our working relationship with CTIA with this important, groundbreaking developer seminar", said Tom Knighten, President of GeoComm International, WirelessDevNet.com's parent company. "While the Wireless I.T. conference is itself an important event on the wireless industry calendar, this technical seminar will provide focused, relevant information to those who need it most: the developers tasked with building these cutting-edge applications."

Currently, keynote speaches are scheduled from Tim O'Reilly, President of O'Reilly and Associates and Michael Rhodin, Director of Worldwide Development for IBM's Pervasive Computing Division. Tim has been an activist for internet standards and for Open Source software. He has led successful public relations campaigns on behalf of key internet technologies, helping to block Microsoft's 1996 limits on TCP/IP in NT Workstation, organizing the " summit" of key free software leaders where the term "Open Source" was first widely agreed upon, and, most recently, organizing a series of protests against frivolous software patents. Tim received Infoworld's Industry Achievement Award in 1998 for his advocacy on behalf of the Open Source community. Michael has worldwide development responsibility across IBM's far-reaching pervasive computing initiatives. He oversees the development technologies and solutions that fit IBM's strategic investments in device software, server software and application software.

Technical presentations will focus on the hottest technologies in the industry today, including: WAP, Bluetooth, XML, Mobile Security, and Java in mobile devices. Presenters for these sessions are being drawn from leading companies such as wTrade, Lutris, Aether Systems, Phone.com, and Zucotto Systems. Make plans to attend today! All attendees will receive an exclusive Wireless Developer T-shirt, a CD-ROM containing a wealth of software development tools, and a copy of O'Reilly's first WAP book: "Introduction To WML and WMLScript".
