Today, our 1225 model operates at 25 kHz while offering simultaneous capture of multiple returns and intensity data from each laser pulse. LiDAR works under the same principles as radar, but is based on laser rangefinder technology. While in existence for more than 20 years, the application of LiDAR to commercial topographic mapping has only become available in the last five years. “Today, LiDAR mapping is highly automated, from flight planning and acquisition of data, to the production of digital terrain models and contour maps said Mr. Flood.
