Nokia Selects Comsearch's(R) IQ-Link(R) Network Planning Tool For Turnkey Operation
With New GSM Mobile Operator
Product to Assist in Network Design of Italy's New BLU Network
RESTON, Va., May 30 - Comsearch announced today that Nokia
of Finland has selected Comsearch's premier microwave path design software
tool, IQ-Link, to assist in the design of the microwave interconnect for
Italy's BLU GSM network in a deal valued at over $200K in software licenses
and support.
On February 3, 2000, Nokia announced it had signed a turnkey contract with
Italy's new GSM mobile operator, BLU, to supply and rollout network solutions
for BLU's GSM 1800 network. The turnkey deal is comprised of a comprehensive
range of services including Transmission Network Planning and Design. The
IQ-Link product will be used by Nokia to support BLU in the implementation of
their network.
IQ-Link, a comprehensive engineering software tool that performs complex
spectrum allocation and frequency engineering for hundreds of microwave links
easily, including multiple link scenarios. The tool enables a customer to
display GIS data, perform path and reliability calculations, and conduct fast,
comprehensive interference analyses in order to have a complete solution for
the planning and designing of point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and
wireless local loop networks.

design, rollout and maintenance of microwave networks to interconnect mobile
networks."
