Webraska and Scoot.com form wireless partnership alliance
Poissy, France, 11 May 2000 - Webraska Mobile Technologies, the world’s first provider of real-time maps, traffic information and personal navigation services on Internet mobile phones, and Scoot, the leading branded European infomediary, are pleased to announce that they have formed a partnership to collaborate on a range of new product applications.

As part of this non-exclusive agreement, Scoot will incorporate Webraska’s mapping and navigation services into its mobile voice and data products, whilst Webraska will add Scoot’s buyer-centric content to its international cartographic database. This will allow users of each service to benefit from a complete offering including for instance the ability to obtain relevant information on hotels, make an instant reservation and then be guided to the chosen hotel via the quickest and simplest route.

Webraska and Scoot will jointly develop a range of new location-based transaction and information services that will be offered directly to mobile operators around the world including the existing partners relationships that Webraska and Scoot already have. In addition, the companies will be working together in the Wappi! consortium, which is a partnership agreement between Vivendi and PSA, the leading French car manufacturer, to provide comprehensive wireless in-car navigation services.

Commenting on today’s partnership Jean-Michel Durocher, CEO and founder of Webraska said : "Webraska specialises in mapping, traffic and personal navigation services: it is the perfect enabler for services such as city or restaurant guides, mobile portals or yellow pages as well as for mobile e-commerce, games, and professional applications. Scoot has a great vision of the future of m-commerce. I am confident that working together, to the benefit of our wireless carrier customers, will help making this vision a reality world-wide. "

Robert Bonnier CEO of Scoot continued by saying: "Scoot's multi-access transaction capabilities are rapidly changing the way in which buyers are connected with sellers. The Webraska navigation services will further enhance the experience of the Scoot m-commerce and information services."
