Safe Software announces Oracle 8i(TM) Spatial version 8.1.6 support
FME and SpatialDirect benefit from performance enhancements,
other improvements
Vancouver, BC - May 18, 2000 - Safe Software announces that its industry
leading data access products FME and SpatialDirect now offer support for
Oracle 8i™ Spatial version 8.1.6. This allows Safe's products to take
advantage of the improved performance and functionality of Oracle 8.1.6.
"Oracle 8i version 8.1.6 offers substantial improvements over 8.1.5 and our
products get a significant performance boost by supporting it," said Dale

FME can now be used for incremental updates of spatial and attribute data
held in Oracle 8i version 8.1.6. The results of complex SQL queries can be
output to any of FME's 60+ formats. Support for the new geometry model
offered in 8.1.6. is also included. Safe's FME Workbench product, included
with any FME Suite purchase, allows easy graphical configuration of data
import into new or existing database schemas.
