Call for Participation and Announcement of Scholarships Competition


GIScience 2000: First International Conference on Geographic Information Science Savannah Marriott River Front, Savannah, Georgia, USA October 28-31, 2000

GIScience 2000 focuses on emerging topics and basic research findings across all sectors of geographic information science, with a program ( www.giscience.org/GIScience2000/programOverview.html ) containing 117 papers, 38 posters, 7 invited talks, and 2 panels.

Early Registration

The early registration fee of $195 will be available through September 15, 2000. See http://www.giscience.org/GIScience2000/registration.html for details.

Scholarships

A limited number of scholarships are available to provide partial financial support to attend GIScience 2000. Graduate students are especially encouraged to apply. Support will pay for registration, travel, and accommodation up to a limit of $700. To apply send a short resume and a statement giving your reasons for wanting to attend the conference and why you are want to apply for the scholarship to scholarship@giscience.org by September 15. Awardees will be notified by September 25.
