LEICA GEOSYSTEMS RELEASES NEW DATA COLLECTION SOFTWARE

Leica Geosystems has released a new version of its popular TPS DataPro data collection software for TPS1100 Professional Series Total Stations.

TPS DataPro Version 2 supports all the new functions recently introduced in firmware Version 2.03 for the TPS1100, including robotic search windows, working areas, and high-productivity measuring and data management. Feature codelists used by TPS DataPro are fully compatible with the Leica GPS System 500, and may be created and edited in the field or office. TPS DataPro also now provides fully automated angle sets, allowing multiple angle sets to be measured automatically using Leica instruments with automatic target recognition.

Other Version 2 improvements include support of QuickCode, permitting the user to measure and code points with only one or two keystrokes, and output to the most popular software packages and data formats. TPS DataPro provides direct output to Autodesk LDD, Intergraph, Carlson Survey, GeoPak and other major packages via FBK, SDR and SDMS formats.

In announcing the new version, John Stenmark, Leica Geosystems' TPS business development manager, stated "Smooth dataflow is the key to increased efficiency, and dataflow is at the heart of TPS DataPro's design strategy. TPS DataPro has a very short learning curve, provides exceptionally fast and simple operation in the field, and eliminates troublesome data conversions. With the release of Version 2, TPS1100 Professional Series has increased Leica Geosystems' lead in performance, productivity and flexibility."

TPS DataPro Version 2 operates on all Leica TPS 1100 Professional Series Total Stations, including manual, reflectorless, robotic and robotic reflectorless instruments. It is now available from Leica dealers worldwide.

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Leica Geosystems Inc., with a sales and technical support force in both North and South America, is a subsidiary of Leica Geosystems AG, Heerbrugg, Switzerland. Leica Geosystems has a more than 100-year heritage as the leading instrument and system innovator in surveying, GPS, GIS, construction, photogrammetry and industrial measurement. Leica is a worldwide registered trademark that stands for quality and service.
