MATTHEW SMITH APPOINTED LEICA GEOSYSTEMS' GPS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
DIRECTOR
Leica Geosystems Inc. announces the appointment of Matthew Smith as GPS
Business Development Director for North America. In this position,
Smith will be responsible for managing all aspects of marketing, sales
and service of Leica Geosystems GPS product lines in the U.S. and
Canada.
In his new role, Smith will direct three key GPS business areas: GPS
surveying, GPS machine guidance and GPS reference stations. His
responsibilities will include ensuring Leica Geosystems GPS products,
support and services meet and exceed the expectations of North America
customers.
Smith stated, "The opportunity to work with a very dedicated group of
professionals to bring the benefits of Leica Geosystems excellent range
of GPS products to a well informed customer base is one I greatly look
forward to. By addressing the specific requirements of the North
American market we can deliver eye-opening efficiency improvements to
our GPS customers."
Prior to accepting his new position, Smith was Leica Geosystems regional
sales manager for Southeast Asia, based in Singapore. He brings
considerable experience in sales management, strategic market planning
and customer-based applications solutions. In addition to over ten
years of practical surveying experience, Smith holds a Master of Science
degree in Surveying from the University of London and is a Chartered
Surveyor.
