Veridian
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 11, 2000--Firepad, Inc. Monday announced that it has added
color support to its streaming video technology for the Palm Computing(R) Platform.
Separately, Firepad(TM) announced that it has entered into a formal agreement with Veridian Corp., a leading national
systems integrator, to resell Firepad(TM) software products.
"Firepad is pleased to welcome Veridian as the first national systems integrator to implement Firepad's advanced display
technologies," said Kenneth J. Marshall, president and chief operating officer of Firepad(TM). "Already, Veridian is using
Firepad technology to display GIS data in their Views-To-Go application for the Palm(TM)." More information about Veridian
can be found on the World Wide Web at www.veridian.com and www.terraindata.com.
Earlier this month, Firepad(TM) demonstrated the world's first Palm(TM) video streaming technology to industry analysts in
New York and Silicon Valley. Firepad's technology is capable of displaying full-screen video data on a Palm(TM) device at up
to 25 frames per second.
Color video support will be included in the FireViewer 5(TM) client application and the FireProducer(TM) server
application, scheduled to be released later this year.
The current version of FireViewer(TM) supports large, two-dimensional graphics on the Palm(TM), and has more than
330,000 downloads to date, making it one of the top 10 all-time downloads for the platform.
With Firepad's software products, including FireViewer(TM), FirePublisher(TM), and FireProducer(TM), enterprises can
distribute rich content out to wireless handheld devices using standard TCP/IP protocols. A complete demonstration of the
upcoming FireViewer 5(TM) client application is available at www.firepad.com.
