Design Visualization, Inc. To Offer GDT Products in MicroStation Format; New Partnership Expands Product Options For GDT Users

LEBANON, N.H., Dec 10, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Geographic Data Technology, Inc., a developer of premier map databases, today announced that it has joined with Design Visualization, Inc. (DVI) to provide GDT data products in MicroStation(R) format. DVI will convert and resell all standard GDT products, including street and address databases and telecommunication boundary products, for users who need MicroStation format.

This agreement expands the product format options available to GDT users. MicroStation, a product of Bentley Systems, allows users to create 3D models and electronic simulations of real-world objects.

"GDT already offers the widest range of format options and this new agreement only enhances that flexibility for customers," said Patrick Kearney, GDT's vice president of sales and marketing. "The availability of GDT data in MicroStation format will be tremendously useful to GDT customers in the utility and telecommunications industries, many of whom use CAD-based systems for planning and managing their facilities. The team behind DVI has a strong background working with MicroStation users and will be able to meet and exceed the needs of GDT customers who use this format for their geospatial data."

"We're excited to be able to offer the entire range of GDT products to the MicroStation community," said Chris Heyburn, DVI president. "GDT has a solid reputation for the type of quality data needed to support the demanding applications that are typical of MicroStation users. Any outside plant engineers or planners using MicroStation to do their jobs will now have a dedicated source for the most accurate nationwide landbase on the market."
