Lucas County Ohio Selects Altamap Server to Distribute Property Information
on the Internet
Santa Ana, California, January 31, 2001- GeoMicro a developer of premier
mapping applications today announced that Lucas County has selected and
implemented GeoMicro's AltaMap Server for the Auditor's Real Estate
Information System (ARIES) OnLine. AREIS OnLine is a tool for searching and
selecting real estate parcel information. The application permits searches
by owner name, address, permanent parcel number, account number, legal
description or geographic intersection.
Gary Kleinfelter, County Webmaster said, "the County receives hundreds of
requests for parcel information on a daily basis. Making this information
available on the Internet improves service and reduces the cost of
distributing this economically valuable information. AltaMap Server provides
a critical component to AREIS OnLine. We needed a highly reliable, stable
map serving component. AltaMap has proven to be easy to use, powerful and
cost effective mapping solution that retrieves the property information
located within the Oracle database. Altamap Server was very straightforward
to install and integrate."
The AltaMap family of products combines easy to use Active Server Pages from
Microsoft with the power of the Oracle8i database. AltaMap products have a
reputation as the easiest way of building desktop or web based applications
against the Shape file or Oracle Spatial Cartridge. Combing a small memory
footprint and middleware-free architecture, AltaMap Server Enterprise yields
unparalleled performance.
GeoMicro, established in 1997, specializes in developing high performance
Geographic Information System (GIS) software for the Internet. GeoMicro
products include desktop mapping components and highly scalable Internet map
server software -- www.geomicro.com
